What should I/we wear for the photographs?

First and foremost ensure your own comfort, wear something that you feel relaxed wearing and have free movement in.

The studio makes use of a white background so it is better to have a degree of contrast, I therefore recommend avoiding white if possible. Light colours are just fine, bold colours equally so. Plain items of clothing generally work better than heavily patterned items.

Consider what style of images you are keen to achieve, jeans and t-shirts are great for informal and relaxed looking photos, if you would like something more formal then suits, dresses etc. would be appropriate.

I'm a little worried that the kids may act up, will this cause a problem?

Not at all. I have three children of my own, I know the drill.

Generally children love playing up to the camera and it should be welcomed, the aim is to capture natural expression and behaviour in your photos, wetting their hair down and insisting on broad smiles will often prove to be counter productive!

There are toys here and you are welcome to bring your own, if (when) they decide they've worked hard enough it's best to give them a break and let them do their own thing. If they do that in front of the camera there are all always some great shots to be had. The most important thing is that you are all relaxed and free from undue stress, so really, let it slide and between us we will coax them into position albeit on their terms maybe.

If we fail miserably, no problem, it's easy to wrap things up and give it a go another day, so don't let it be a concern for you.

Will we be able to see some of the photos?

Yes. Whilst the final edited images will be available for review within a week or so, often less than that, I always make a point of showing images to the subjects as we progress.

Seeing is believing as they say, and beeing able to view images on the cameras digital display or the computer equipment is a great way of instilling confidence in all those involved.

Are you able to advise on, or even supply printed products such as canvasses etc.?

Yes. The typical end product from me is a complete set of photos, digitally edited and ready for viewing, sharing and printing as may be required. I am able to offer advice with regards to choice of processing labs for regular photo prints and enlargements, professional quality prints as well as canvasses and other larger print products.
